Tom Wilkinson’s brave 50 fails to save Frodsham

FRODSHAM suffered another heavy defeat when they went down by nine wickets in the UKFast Cheshire League game against Aston.
Batting first, Frodsham were dismissed for 102 – a total that was only made possible by a brave innings by Tom Wilkinson, who hit an unbeaten 50. Only one other batsman reached double figures – Rob Kent with 15.
Aston coasted to 106-1
Frodsham 2nd did rather better, picking up a seven wicket victory against Oxton, who they bowled out for 118, J London taking 3-22 and Andrew Graham 3-26.
Graham completed a good all-round performance, hitting 33 not out when Frodsham replied with 119-3. Opener Nick Corless hit 24 and Leon Pietrzac 24 not out.
Kingsley grabbed an eight wicket victory at Winnington Park after dismissing the home side for 148. Adrian Burden took 5-37 and Craig Lynch 3-32.
Ben Stoddart hammered 61 as Kingsley replied with 149-2 and was well supported by Harn Yassin, 45 and Kingsley Warman, 28 not out.
The “derby” game between Kingsley 2nd and Alvanley 2nd resulted in a big win for visitors Alvanley, who hit 219-3 and then dismissed Kingsley for 118.
Alvanley 1st XI had a nail-biting encounter with Upton which ended up an honours-even tie, with both teams hitting 157-7.
