Frodsham cricket: “What might have been?”

FRODSHAM ended a disappointing season 10th out of 13 in division four of the UKFast Cheshire Cricket League.
But with five matches abandoned in the season, the club could well be forgiven for wondering: “What might have been?”
The last match of the season was at home to Tranmere Victoria and ended in an eight wicket defeat.
Put in under grey skies, Frodsham were at one time 47-8, but an aggressive 51 from Matt Deakin, supported by Jamie London, saw them reach the respectability of 101.
Tranmere wasted no time and reached their target for the loss of only two wickets.
Frodsham 2nd finished eighth in their division.
Kingsley, after a bright start to the season, ended up seventh in division one – disappointing after the early promise.
Alvanley finished their season on a high note, winning promotion to division one of the RSK Cheshire County League by virtue of coming second in division two.
They won 10 games and lost only four.
