SINGER-guitarist Carrie Martin is returning to Frodsham’s Castle Park Arts Centre by popular demand.
She will be appearing on Saturday, September 17 with another selection of songs, including her own compositions.
The doors will be open from 7pm with the show starting at 7.30pm. The bar will be open and admission is £12.50.
Carrie is a true, born and bred Yorkshire lass, born in Hull. She first picked up a guitar when she was four, making her first public performance when she was nine.
She played clubs alongside her father, also a guitar-vocalist and by her teens she had made a name for herself locally with her songs played on local radio.
Then she changed tack, dropping the guitar to front bands as a “rock chick” for a while.
After marrying and having children her guitar was confined to the loft where it gathered dust for two decades while Carrie took up a new pastime – long distance running.
A chance meeting with an old acquaintance in 2011 led her to retrieve the guitar from the loft and after some refresher lessons it all came back to her.
Castle Park say Carrie blends thoughtful words with exquisite guitar playing and that her voice has more than a touch of Kate Bush and Joni Mitchell.
